Hi List
Why don't you use Netview??, I have In the past, done many converts mib to
cds and oid for the SNMP adapater, it is time consuming ,
But after whe install NetView, SNMP traps is a easy, I can only recommend
you to thake a look at Netview.
It is a magic tool for SNMP, support of diffrent version of SNMP. That was
the pain for us, whe couldn't use v2 on the TEC SNMP adpater.
It have built in the converter, you can do local correlation in
Netview(dupdetect). Export tec baroc file!.
It it a easy to import new mibs.
Whe managed to day all the bank SNMP events, diffrent
OS-HW,SAN-devices,CISCO-works,
Whe have config Netview to not use maps, events gui etc. It is just a SNMP
receiver, and it take very litle system cpu time/mem.
Whe are running Netview on the tec servers, without any perfomance
problems,
Take a look at NetView,

Yes, there are various scripts that have been posted in the past.
Search for mib2cds, mib2oid, and mib2tec in the archives. You'll find a
fair bit of difficulty with these, mainly they only do the middle third
of the job. You have to do the first third of creating a large mib file
to handle all the definitions found in the IMPORTS. You also have to do
the latter third of removing duplicates, fixing name or oid clashes, and
removing comments that will appear to the parser as parsable syntax.
After going through this enough for various large clients, I've gone and
written my own that handles the process much easier, but for now, it's
not a public script. Us consultants have to have some way to make
money.
